Man City will not sell Ruben Dias to Chelsea
Man City has blocked Chelsea from signing Dias
It’s getting harder and harder for Chelsea to find a new centre back. Chelsea has started looking for a centre-back after Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana suffered injuries.
Marc Guehi is a target for Chelsea, but Crystal Palace appears hesitant to part with the player who has led their team this season.
Ruben Dias of Manchester City is another center-half that the Blues have been connected to, but that seems to be a no-go. Dias was reportedly on Chelsea’s watchlist back in October.
He is the ideal profile for this youthful Chelsea team and an even more seasoned choice than Guehi, having turned 28 this year and having a wealth of Premier League experience. However, it appears that City has no intention of selling the Portuguese this month, which is unfortunate for Enzo Maresca.
The Premier League champions are reportedly unwilling to consider any offers for Dias this month, according to GiveMeSport. Chelsea will now have to cross the Portugal international off their list if they truly thought of him as a possibility.
Guardiola Thinks he is undroppable
City manager Pep Guardiola has previously praised Dias’ impact on the pitch and called him “undroppable.”
The Independent cited Guardiola as saying, “He’s not just a player who plays good, he’s a player who makes the other guys play good too.” It’s ninety minutes of talking, ninety minutes of communicating , and ninety minutes of stating what they have to do in each and every action.
When that occurs, I find it challenging and undroppable. Overall, Chelsea needs a player like Dias. Once more, Maresca’s team is inexperienced and youthful. It is most likely one of the reasons they have recently had trouble finishing games.
The Blues’ 1-1 tie with Palace earlier this month was one of many late goals they have given up. Late in a game, someone with Dias’ background and leadership abilities could assist keep things in balance.
Guehi is currently captaining Oliver Glasner’s team because he has grown into a leader at Palace. They won’t want to let Guehi go, though, exactly like City with Dias.
