Victor Boniface suffered minor hand injuries in a serious car accident on Sunday morning.
According to multiple sources, Bayer Leverkusen forward Boniface, involved in a motor accident. It reportedly happened after his team defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 on Saturday. Boniface, who scored Leverkusen’s game-winning goal on Saturday, was doing well following the mishap, a club source told Reuters.
On Sunday, Boniface posted images and a video of a wrecked car on Instagram, but those posts have since been removed. Additionally, he uploaded what looked to be a photo of his blood-stained hand.
According to Bild, On the way to Frankfurt airport on Sunday morning, the Nigerian forward was a passenger in his Mercedes. His hand was slightly hurt when the car collided with a truck.
According to police sources quoted in the newspaper, the driver was so tired that he lost control of the vehicle and swerved from the middle lane to the right, colliding with the truck. The Mercedes flipped over in the accident. The driver and Boniface have safely returned to Köln after receiving medical attention and examination in the hospital.
The truck driver was uninjured. It is estimated that the total damage is little about €200,000.
