Real Madrid are reportedly ready to offer one of their midfielders in part-exchange for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
Fernandez was part of the racism controversy at the start of the season that hit home for many. But he has seemingly brushed that aside to continue with his season at Chelsea. He began as the main starting midfielder for Enzo Maresca alongside Moises Caicedo. But now, he has seemingly lost a place in Chelsea’s best X to young midfielder Romeo Lavia.
Fernandez has now been starting games under Maresca’s ‘second string’ starting XI, and he is likely to start tonight. Chelsea faces Newcastle United in the League Cup and Fernandez will likely start.
As will always happen with these stories, this could indicate that we will see a lot more rumors like this. However, there will be speculation over whether Chelsea will want to cash in on Fernandez or keep him. Also as well as whether the player may try to make a move right now or in the future.
Rumor from the Spanish Media
This week, a Spanish media source says that Aurelien Tchouameni would be sacrificed to sweeten a deal with Chelsea. According to a story carried by Football Fancast. Real Madrid is willing to give Chelsea Tchouameni in return for Fernandez, who Ancelotti particularly desires.
Real Madrid has made Maresca’s midfield star their top priority in an attempt to expand their midfield options. Fernandez may be amenable to the transfer. Fernandez would be far more suited to La Liga and Madrid will be interested in him to replace Kroos.
However, I fail to see them wishing to let go of Tchouameni, who is a world-class player, in order to acquire him. To be honest, I don’t see anything in this rumor, and I have no doubt that it will eventually die out.
