Trent Alexander-Arnold speaks about his future
Arnold won't talk about his contract in public
Liverpool has been discussing Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future internally for some time now.
The right-back is in the last year of his current contract with the team and has yet to sign a new one at Anfield. A transfer to Real Madrid, where Jude Bellingham, his buddy, plays, has been a subject for the England international.
The other two players who still have an uncertain future at the club due to contract concerns are Virgil Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, in addition to Alexander-Arnold.
All of these players will have the power to negotiate a pre-contract deal with other teams at the beginning of the new year.
According to Alexander-Arnold, he would not publicly address the specifics of his contract status with Liverpool.
Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports News, “I have been with the club for 20 years, and I have signed four or five contract extensions. None of those have been played out in public, and this one won’t be either.”
Life Under new manager Arne Slot
The Liverpool player is loving his life under Arne Slot, and he has been especially pleased with the Dutch manager’s attention to detail. Liverpool is currently at the top of both the Premier League and the Champions League standings thanks to Slot’s outstanding start.
“The level of detail he has… I find myself smiling about it because that’s the kind of thing that I really enjoy,” Alexander-Arnold said.
“It’s just football in like a very, very in-depth level.
“I could tell from the first time I met him that I was going to enjoy playing under him and being a part of this. I’m feeling like I’m going to get better and improve and learn so much in such a short space of time and just keep on learning, because I could tell he was football obsessed and the level of detail was incredible.”
The defender’s happiness at Anfield under Slot should instill optimism and trust in the supporters that the player would stick with the team.
Under the Dutch boss, his individual performances have significantly improved, and it seems the defender has put a lot of effort into honing his defensive skills.Because of his unique talent, Alexander-Arnold must remain with Liverpool and continue to play a significant role in the project.
