Arsenal to sign Kingsley Coman as a short term replacement for Saka
Kingsley Coman has been discussed internally at Arsenal
Kingsley Coman is being considered by Arsenal for a short-term contract in January to replace injured star Bukayo Saka.
After losing favour at the Allianz Arena, the Bayern Munich winger, who had a stellar career at the top level, became available on loan in the summer.
And based on the most recent information from the Evening Standard, it appears that Coman would be available to Arsenal once more before January, with the France international possibly serving as Saka’s temporary replacement.
The revelation that Saka will be out for a long time and that it will be nearly impossible to replace the England international has given a potentially serious blow to Arsenal’s title chances.
Although it is unlikely that Arsenal would spend a lot of money this January to acquire a new, elite winger, an accomplished player like Coman might be a good substitute.
Even though Coman isn’t as electrifying as Saka right now, he can still work for the Gunners for a few months. Given that we haven’t exactly seen the best of other wide players like Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli in a while, Mikel Arteta should definitely think about making a move like this.
Even if Coman may be past his prime, he is still only 28 years old and may be keen to join the Premier League and dispel some of his sceptics.
There’s a lot of competition for places at Bayern, which will have made it harder for him to show what he’s still capable of, but he could get that chance to impress again at the Emirates Stadium.
