Axel Disasi, is said to have reached a personal agreement with Aston Villa in anticipation of a potential January transfer. After Diego Carlos left, the France star, who has so far played a peripheral role at Stamford Bridge this season, has agreed to join Unai Emery’s team.

Carlos, 31, joined Fenerbahce for a reported €10m and according to Fabrizio Romano, Villa has already reached a personal agreement with the Chelsea player after deciding that Disasi would be the best replacement.

Fabrizio Ramona posted on X: “Axel Disasi has agreed on personal terms with Aston Villa.

“Disasi wants to join Villa despite interest from more clubs around Europe after direct talk with Unai Emery, crucial to get the green light. “Deal now up to Chelsea and Villa to reach full agreement.”

Disasi was signed by Chelsea from AS Monaco in 2023 for €45 million, but because he hasn’t performed much this season, his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has fallen to €20.9 million.

Since Enzo Maresca was hired last summer, Disasi has only made six Premier League appearances in 2024–25 and has been left out of Chelsea’s matchday squad eight times.

Trevoh Chalobah was called up by the Blues from his loan stint at Crystal Palace earlier this month, and his arrival has allowed Chelsea to release Disasi.

Will Chelsea agree with villa

Although it’s unclear if Aston Villa and Chelsea will agree on Disasi’s transfer fee, Emery’s team is working hard to finalise a deal before the January transfer window closes.

The 26-year-old, who can play either right or centre back, has signed a contract with Villa. Tyrone Mings sustained a knee injury against West Ham United on Sunday.
