Before the January transfer window closes, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is hoping to snap Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran.

Although Al-Nassr, the Saudi Pro League team, is interested in Duran, Maresca is keen not to let the Colombian international slip through his fingers again after pursuing him in the summer.

Joao Felix’s planned transfer to Aston Villa is said to have the potential to open the deal. After officially joining Stamford Bridge in the summer in a €52 million transfer, the Portugal international has struggled to contribute and may be let go right away.

The Birmingham club will seize any chance to complete a deal with the Spaniard, who is reportedly “obsessed” by Villa manager Unai Emery, according to Fabrizio Romano.

In the meanwhile, Duran is reportedly eager to join Chelsea due to the prospect of regularly being able to play in Europe. However, it’s challenging for all of this to fit together.

Although Axel Disasi has been discussed between Chelsea and Villa, there aren’t many signs that a deal for Joao Felix, the kingmaker in this transfer drama, is particularly close at this point.

Will Duran join Al Nassr or Chelsea

Conversely, Duran to Al-Nassr seems to be nearing completion.Although they will not receive the €100 million they requested at the beginning of the transfer season, Aston Villa may take comfort in the fact that the Colombian international will not be joining a direct opponent in the Premier League or Champions League.

Since there is not much time left before Deadline Day on February 3rd, Maresca will have to find his attacking options elsewhere.
