Victor Boniface (24), Bayer Leverkusen’s forward, has agreed to a deal with Al-Nassr worth about €60 million, according to Sky Germany.
After Kai Havertz’s 2020 €80 million move to Chelsea, the Nigerian’s exit is the second most expensive transfer in the club’s history. Boniface will reportedly make €15 million a season after passing his medicals with the Saudi team.
This deal should be finalised before Friday’s deadline, even if the club has not yet provided an official confirmation. It marks the end of Boniface’s stay in Germany following his €21.7 million July 2022 move from Union Saint-Gilloise to Die Werkself.
In 49 appearances in all competitions during his 18 months with the team, Boniface has scored 29 goals and provided 11 assists, but he has also lost a significant amount of time due to injury.
While not a direct replacement, Bayer 04 is negotiating a contract to sign Emil Buendia of Aston Villa on loan for the rest of the season with a reported buyout option. The Bundesliga champions are also considering Brighton’s Evan Ferguson.
