Man United are believed to be preparing to part ways with Ten Hag as the club’s hierarchy continues to look for options.
Manchester United have had a relatively disappointing 2024–25 season so far, occupying 12th in the Premier League standing. They have three victories from eight EPL games, with three draws in their Europa League games this season.
Although United are unbeaten in their last four games, Ten Hag’s squad has only won one of those games. As a result, the INEOS club is looking for new managers in case they decide to fire their existing management.
The Mirror claims that a four-person list has been drafted after the United board had a meeting. The Old Trafford target list includes former Barcelona manager Xavi, Ruben Amorim of Sporting Lisbon, Edin Terzic of Borussia Dortmund, and Thomas Frank of Brentford.
One of these managers may be in command of the largest club in England if the results doesn’t improve soon. There is still time to salvage United’s season, but the hierarchy must decide quickly to let go of Ten Hag. Under the Dutch coach, the team’s performance has been subpar both last and this season with no signs of improvement.
The 54-year-old just can’t handle the job, and the international break was the perfect opportunity to change jobs. The Man United administration may finally get their chance during the November international window if they can entice Ruben Amorim of Sporting Lisbon to Old Trafford. The Portuguese coach is expected to succeed Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
